POST 9 - Free Themed Topic

Well, this is the most difficult topic because i like a lot of music!, can vary as among reggaeton, indie, dethcore, etc. But today i talk about of this contrast in my musical tastes

Well i star to listen this music when i was a child with my friends in school, i can't deny this music is too obscene, but it is funny to dance with friends now, i often go to the discotheque but i don't like so much.

on the other side, when i was in high school i change my taste bacause i know other people, and i star to listen english music, with guitars and drums, and i star to listen metalcore and hardcore music, this is sound like only screamings but the lyrics are very interesting, al need to listen Architects, it is a better band of metalcore, and the lyrics are too stronger, another bands it sound similar are Northlane. if you can listen something more weird you shuold listen Rings of Saturn they call themselves Aliencore, it is too interesting. I never go to a concert of this music, because i had no money, and when my favourite band comes to Chile, the guitarrist and compositor, he did an cancer crisis, now he is dead.

Anyway i continue talk about my musical taste, now i like Trap and Aestethic music, but only womans singer because Princesa alba, Tomasa del real, Ms nina, etc are really cool.

POST 8 - A Subject you've enjoyed studying this semester

Well my favorite subject this semester is "problems of modern architecture", it is very interesting because i understand the meaning of modernization. In classes, the teacher gives a cathedra where through quotes and images to understand an interpretation of what was the architecture of modernism, or different concepts linked to the word "modern".

if there is something that could criticize the cathedra, is that there is not much discussion with respect to the class and is more than anything a monologue on the part of the teacher, although in fact I find it very entertaining anyway.

The contents that we have seen its about the architecture around 1920 and 1970, although the professor explains that modern architecture as such cannot be defined within a certain period of time, we can talk about modern movement, which expressed certain utopian ideals about turning life into a machine.

POST 7 - An Expert on your Field

Well, today i will talk about an expert that i admire this person was an activist and a theorist of urbanism her is Jane Butzner Jacobs, she was born in Pensilvania the 4th of may of 1916 and she died in 25th of April of 2006, she never studied something related with urbanism, but her husband Robert Jacobs was an architect, and he introduced Jane to the camp of urbanism. I'm using this opportunity to recommend to all the people interested in the city and it's people, to read the book "The death and life of great American cities" written by Jane Jacobs.

How i said before, Jane Jacobs was an activist and her ideas were to protect the neighborhoods and districts from the modern urbanism focused on the creations of highways and streets only used for cars. Although her ideas where from a long time ago (40's - 60's) they are still current thanks to her power of understanding the dynamics of the cities, that trancended the time. One of her most remembered battle was with Robert Moses, he was an urbanist of modernism and he impulsated the higways that crossed the neighborhoods. When Moses wanted to put an autopist in Manhattan, Jane Jacobs empowered the neighbors and the highway wasn't built, and this made an inflection point that served to question the way to carry out the creation of cities.
